Westacott Mailing launches new website

Westacott Mailing celebrates the launch of their new user friendly website in March 2010. As the dedicated fulfilment arm of The Carrier Group, Westacott Mailing boasts an impressive 15 years experience in direct marketing and mailing fulfilment.

The new web site further enhances Westacott Mailing’s market presence and strengthens their brand image in the direct marketing arena.

March 2010: Royal Mail 2010 iconic stamp programme

Royal Mail are celebrating the 150th anniversary of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in March with a selection of stamps featuring successfully re-homed animals from the shelter.

The special stamps are the latest in a series of themed collections, each featuring a different aspect of British heritage and culture.  January saw classic album covers gracing the first class stamp and February celebrated the 100th birthday of the Girlguiding movement.

Later this year Royal plan to unveil more in the series; Mammals, Britain Alone, Children’s Books, Stage Musicals, and Great British Railways.

New Royal Mail postage prices from April 2010

Royal Mail have announced that price of First and Second Class stamps for standard letters weighing up to 100g would rise by 2p, to 41p and 32p respectively, from 6 April 2010. Prices for ordinary meter and account mail will not increase and will remain at 36p and 25p respectively for standard letters weighing up to 100g.

Direct Marketing and Mail Order business set to increase in 2010

Recent press articles are suggesting that mail order business and companies providing shopping catalogues or using direct mail are set to see a rise in business in 2010.

A recent article in the Guardian speculated that catalogue and mail order business have already seen sales increase by 10% in the early part of this year.  Meanwhile in November 2009 Marketing UK released news that the United States Postal Commission had appointed comScoresurvey to undertake research on USPS customers, the outcome of which purported that customers who receive a catalogue are much more likely to go on to make an online purchase. In fact respondents said that printed catalogues has attributed to a 20-50% increase in their online sales.
